- The Folk Music Index lists recorded sources of folk music playable on the mountain dulcimer.
- The Folk Music Site Search facilitates searches of folk music in the public domain.
- The Digital Library of Appalachia provides online access to archival and historical materials related to the culture of the southern and central Appalachian region.
- Old Time Fiddle Tunes is a collection of fiddle tunes from old recordings and workshops, transcribed by John Lamancusa.
- Taylor’s Traditional Tunebook includes over 500 traditional tunes playable on the mountain dulcimer.
- The Dulcimer Players News is a great quarterly magazine about both the mountain dulcimer and the hammered dulcimer. Subscription includes a CD of music with each quarterly issue.
- The Everything Dulcimer website is a source of just about everything you could think of wanting to find out about the mountain dulcimer and the hammered dulcimer.
