January 2017 Dulcimer Jam

We had a fun morning with 8 members. We enjoyed having drums, banjo, auto harp, and fiddle with our dulcimers. Its always fun to jam and learn some new techniques. Looking forward to February and having all our members back.

January 2017Jam

2017, I actually got the right year! Well, we made it through another year and still going strong. Hope you can join us  10:30 a.m. on January 14th at the Corona Court clubhouse  . We'll have a traditional song circle so have in mind a few tunes you enjoy and if you have music to a tune bring it along (6 copies is good). Whether you play dulcimer or just like to play another instrument  along with us your welcome to come. .

December Jam cancelled

Due to inclement weather we have cancelled the jam for December 10. Hope you all have a good holiday season in whatever you celebrate.

December 2016 Seasonal Jam

It's December already and the holidays are fast approaching. Hope you can join us for some seasonal music and fare on December 10, 10:30 a.m. at the Corona Court clubhouse . Bring your seasonal tunes and we'll have some holiday food to brighten our damp weather spirits. We may have some neighbors stop by to listen and share our day.

November Jam and upcoming Dec Seasonal Gathering

It was a nice morning to spend playing music with our mountain dulcimer group along with other stringed instruments; auto harps, fiddles and banjo. At times are minds were challenged to play in different keys and listening to variations on old tunes. Thanks to Barbara, Leslie and Pat we had a nice break over coffee and fresh apple pie, sweet bread and cream. We also were given a mountain dulcimer for the club to use by Judith (not me)and her husband. Thanks to all who got themselves out in the rain and looking forward to a fun December event so keep December 10 open for music and a seasonal fare.

We will be meeting November 12 at the Corona Court Clubhouse, 10:30 through noon.We enjoy singing as well as playing and invite those with other instruments: fiddle, auto harp, drums, to come along and play. Feel free to bring a tune or follow along with calling from our repertoire listed on this website.

October 2016 Announcements

We met at  10:30 this past Saturday for our October jam. We enjoyed having 2 auto harpists join us , Barry and Arlene, thanks for this great accompaniment to our dulcimer tunes. And yes, we usually do play in DAD but can capo and actually re tune to to play in other keys.  We have been planning a few events around holiday time so please come to our practise sessions if you are interested in playing some seasonal music for others around holidays. Our practise sessions are:

Wednesday at 10:00, Willows Retirement Center, 3115 Squalicum Parkway, room 101  First floor (Go past front desk and down to the end of the hallway. (You can ask for dulcimer group at the front desk).
